Fort Washington, Pa. - In the Mondauk 5 Dustbowl on Monday evening, the New Life Glenside Kings squared off against Faith Community for the first time since 2012 and both teams' penultimate games of the regular season. The Kings got on the board first in the top of the first as their first three batters reached base and then all came around to score and went up, 3-0, after one half inning. After scoring one run in the bottom of the first, Faith tied the game at three in the bottom of the second on RBI singles from Tim Metz and Mark Wasson.

The Kings first two batters, Dan Johnson and Tim Stonehouse singled to start the top of the third, but after a pop out, Bud Brodhag snared a line drive and was able to double off the runner at second to get Faith out of the inning. Faith then capitalized in the bottom of the third scoring three runs on a two-run single from Jeremiah Lapp and an RBI single from Isaac Mansor. Faith would tack on three additional runs in the bottom of the fifth and the Kings would fight back in the top of the sixth to score two runs but after a 1-2-3 seventh inning from Andy Miller, Faith came out victorious, winning 9-5. Faith improved to 6-3, winning their fifth game in a row, and taking control of second place in the league. The Kings fall to 3-6 and remain in sixth place. Both teams have one game remaining this week for their final tune ups before playoffs.

Spencer Turkot and Bud Brodhag paced Faith on the night, each going 3-for-4. Turkot with double and a triple and Bud Brodhag with a double. Wasson, Metz, and Mansor all had two hits a piece and combined for 5 RBIs on the night. For the Kings, Johnson was 3-for-4 while Stonehouse and Joel each had two hits a piece.
