Calvary PCA's bats finally shook off the rust in a convincing 12-2 win over Jarrettown Tuesday night. Bryan Young pitched a 7 hitter including 2 strikeouts and the Calvary defense was superb.

Things started well for Jarrettown early as Ben singled and scored later after a throwing error for a 1-0 lead. Calvary would start early with the offense however with five hits including a double by Jeff Stainback and 2-run singles by Devon Bailey and LJ Smith to take a 5-1 lead. In the 2nd Jarrettown could only muster an infield single while Calvary tacked on another run on a throwing error to the third baseman. Jarrettown would go down 1-2-3 in the 3rd and Calvary would push across another run on a triple by Stainback and RBI single by Bailey. Good defense in the third by Jarrettown thwarted a potential big inning. In the top of the 4th, Jarrettown got another runner on base but left him stranded as Bailey made 2 great running catches on pop flies. In the bottom half, Calvary would push the lead to 11-1 scoring 4 runs on back to back to back singles by Mike Kilgus, Brian Taggart, and Josh Tyson. Bailey would come through again with a 2 RBI single to give him 5 RBI for the game. Jarrettown went quietly in the 5th and 6th including a nice double play turn by Calvary to end the 6th inning. Pitcher Bryan Young helped his cause in the 5th with an RBI double to give Calvary a 12-1 lead heading to the 7th. Jarrettown did not go out without a fight as Nick would lead off with a triple and was batted in with a single by Jim. Young would shut the next three batters down in order to end the game and provide the final score of 12-2.

For Calvary - Devon Bailey was a star on offense (3 for 3, 5 RBI) as well as in the field running down difficult to catch fly balls. Jeff Stainback was 2 for 4 with a double and triple and Josh Tyson had 3 hits.

For Jarrettown - Nick was the game MVP for Jarrettown accounting for all of the team's offense with a Sac Fly in the first and a triple and run scored in the 7th.
