Fort Washington, Pa. - In their first meeting of the season, Glenside Bible defeated Faith in a slugfest, 18-14. Monday evening's face-off would prove to be the opposite as both sides flashed the leather in a low scoring, 5-0 affair. The difference proved to be solely the bottom of the third for Faith as they grouped together their runs in that inning which was started by Ted Schnitzel with a single. Faith sent all ten of their batters to the plate in the inning.

Andy Miller continued his dominance as he pitched his third shutout of the season and second in as many games. He allowed just two hits and walked two which brought his season WHIP down to 1.02 which would put him at ninth in Major League Baseball just ahead of Stephen Strasburg. At the plate for Faith, Tim Brodhag, Dan Bergvall, Jeremiah Lapp, and Mark Wasson all had two hits each and at least one hit in the decisive third inning.

In the field Jeff Kavanaugh made two outstanding plays at second base for Glenside Bible diving to catch a blooper behind first base and then snaring a line drive to end an inning and prevented additional runs from scoring. Mark Schiable also had a diving play in left field to rob a base hit. In the field for Faith, Schnitzel turned two double plays, one on a groundball with Bud Brodhag and another on line drive doubling the runner off at first. Spencer Turkot also made a diving play on an infield pop up. Lapp also made play to his right at first base and then dove to tag the bag before the runner arrived.

As the regular season winds down, Glenside Bible remains at the top of the standings with an 7-2 record while Faith moves into a tie for second place with Jarrettown and Calvary Church, all of whom have 5-3 records.
